Memories of Grandpa by Jackie

One thing I remember, is mom and I had dresses made from the same fabric (she made them) and grandpa called it my “strawberry dress” even though I recall it being purple with lavender flowers. She probably had enough scraps left for a dress for me. I remember the last time they painted the Belford Bridge. Mom and I, and probably Roy and Freddie, went to the Bend to see Grandpa and it was orange! That was probably in 1954. They used an orange primer before they put on the silver paint.  It has not been painted since. I think we had on our strawberry dresses that day.  Jackie
